Co-Curricular Activities
At Janani Vidya Mandira, we emphasize subjects beyond traditional academics. Co-curricular activities are a core component of a student’s educational experience, offering valuable opportunities for personal growth. These activities enable students at all levels to build a range of skills, including leadership, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving.
Moreover, co-curricular involvement helps students cultivate a sense of purpose and direction. Engaging in activities that reflect their interests and passions allows students to gain insights into their strengths and areas for improvement, helping them envision a path for their future.
The impact of various activities on developing specific skills may differ based on the student's level of experience and engagement.
Empowering Minds Through Transformative Education
Dance teaches children about music, rhythm & beat. Students also have a better understanding of spatial relationship & learn to think with both side of their brain. Such charming activities fascinate our children to learn the importance of fitness & movement in a variety of ways through discipline. Girls are more inclined towards classical i.e. Kathak & Bharatnatyam whereas western & contemporary dance is the first choice of our boys.
At Janani Vidya Mandira, we value martial arts as a way to instill discipline and confidence. Our karate classes, led by a skilled instructor, teach students essential self-defense techniques, stances, and katas. These sessions enhance focus, resilience, and mental strength, empowering students both physically and mentally. Representing our school in interschool competitions, students bring pride to Janani Vidya Mandira while enjoying the empowerment karate provides. They also have opportunities to showcase their skills at school events, reflecting the strength and discipline we stand for.
At Janani Vidya Mandira, we believe in fostering physical fitness and confidence through skating. Our skating classes, conducted during school hours, teach students essential skills in balance, coordination, and agility under the guidance of a skilled instructor. Skating not only builds physical endurance but also encourages mental focus and perseverance. Students have the opportunity to participate in interschool skating competitions, bringing pride to our school. Skating sessions are a fun and invigorating addition to their day, allowing students to develop both skill and confidence on wheels.
At Janani Vidya Mandira, the Global Awareness Programme (GAP) is a transformative initiative in collaboration with Grey Caps Pvt. Ltd., designed to broaden perspectives and deepen understanding of global issues. Through GAP, students from Grades I to VIII explore topics such as global updates, facts about India, current affairs, science and technology, and inspiring leaders.
This program fosters knowledge, critical thinking, and empathy, empowering students to become informed global citizens. By instilling a sense of responsibility and awareness, GAP equips our students to contribute meaningfully to their communities and an interconnected world.
The Newspaper in Education (NIE) program, organized by the Times of India, aligns with Janani Vidya Mandira’s vision of nurturing well-rounded achievers. Through NIE, students engage in diverse activities that enhance their talents and encourage personal growth beyond academics.
NIE sessions cover a wide range of topics, including memory retention, pet care, etiquette, puppetry, yoga, magic, media and journalism, food and nutrition, and cartooning. These interactive classes, conducted by NIE representatives, help expand students’ general knowledge, creativity, and social awareness. Our students look forward to these lively and enlightening sessions, which inspire them to explore new interests and gain valuable life skills.
Janani Vidya Mandira has collaborated with Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi, to introduce the Awakened Citizen Program (ACP) for middle school students. This 3-year value-based education program includes 48 modules, with 16 engaging PowerPoint-based sessions each year. Teachers, trained through the ACP Facilitator’s Development Program, guide students on a journey of self-discovery, reflection, and transformation.
ACP’s unique methodology emphasizes the unfolding steps of Discovery, Acceptance, Reflection, and Transformation, helping students recognize their infinite potential. Through exploration-based discussions, students analyze their thoughts without fear of judgment, empowering them to integrate values, make responsible choices, and develop confidence.
